There are over 300 different species of Eucalyptus, but only about 15 species support respiratory function. Eucalyptus essential oil (distilled from the leaves) is also an immune stimulant and antiviral oil, making it the gold standard to diffuse for head colds and other infectious diseases. It is also a good insect repellant. Love the idea of steaming in the shower!
